Gladys Pearl Weir was born to Henry and Frannie Maulden October 4, 1910 in Leedey, (Dewey Co), Oklahoma and died April 3, 1994 in the Woodward Hospital Health Center.
Gladys grew up in Leedey and attended Leedey schools until her marriage to Joseph S. (Mutt) Weir on May 17, 1928. The couple established a home in Leedey and were the parents of a daughter, Betty Jo. In 1942 they moved to Knowles and in 1959 they moved to Woodward, Oklahoma.
Gladys was a fabric cutter at Trego's Westwear Factory for a number of years. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977, her daughter, her parents, three brothers, George, Joe and Lloyd Mauldein and two sisters Myrtle Pack and Opal Caleman.
Survivors include her son-in-law John Taylor of Tacoma, Washington, two Grandsons, Mike and Steve Taylor and five great grandchildren of Tacoma, One sister Annie Nall of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Services were conducted from Garden Chapel, Woodward, Friday April 8, 1994 with Rev. Bill Meyer officiating. Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery at Woodward under the direction of the Good Samaritan Funeral Home.

George Hamilton Weir b. 1881 Missouri d. 1960 (Tombstone) m. 26 August 1902 in Dewey Co., Oklahoma to Hanner Lenora Bogert (? sp) b. 1866 d. 1968 (Tombstone). Both Buried in Evergreen Cem., Dewey Co., Oklahoma their mattiage certificate stated they both lived in Trail Twp., Dewey Co., and were married by a Baptist clergyman. George and Lenora Homesteaded the N 1/2 SE 1/4 SW 1/4 ME 1/2 Section 33 and NW 1/4 SW Section 34 T17N R 19/w (Homrstead Application #19823) 6 miles NE of Leedy, The land was patented to them in 1906 and they sold their homestead the same year. George and Lenora had the following children: Gertie Bell m. Jed. Dowling; Lila Venila m. Arlis Wray; Cecile Alma m. Carl Elliot; Ear; "Bud" m. Ima Gladys Bolivar; Peta Dwenly (Twin) m. Otha Gradle; Pena Gwenlyn (Twin) m. Prentice Stafford."
